If you desire to restore it optimum working condition at your cost, please consult with a pocket watch technician prior buying. Movement is damaskeened and appears to be tarnished around the perimeter, as do perimeters of inside covers. It is in need of a good cleaning. This watch is antique and being sold as described based on my experience a collector.

An acid test suggests it may be 10k gold filled, but I don't guarantee this. This Elgin National Watch Co. Size 12 open face mens pocket watch was manufactured around 1928 and is in excellent condition. No chips in the crystal detected.

The front and back snap covers are quite snug can be opened with skilled use of a pocket watch knife. The two tone double sunk dial appears to be metal and is in excellent condition. As with most antique and vintage timepieces this watch should be cleaned, serviced and / or repaired. There is a handsome linear design on the back cover.

The crown winds smooth, so not sure if this is a flaw. The pendant set works well. The case is in excellent condition - it structurally sound with typical wear and tear. The bow is loose and the pendant crown are in good shape structurally.
