This is the classic railroad model design from Hamilton. After winding it, the watch ran for 52 hours and didn't lose a minute. The Hamilton model 950 with its' patented Invar hairspring is among the finest timepieces to come out of the era of great American watchmaking.
It runs beautifully and keeps excellent time. The crystal is like new with no cracks or chips. The case is a 10k gold filled mainline made by the keystone co. This is a size 16 stem wind and lever set beauty that has an immaculate movement with hardly any wear to it.
What else is there to say except this is an exceptional watch for both collectible and investment. The bezel and cover screw on and off with ease and the bow is firm. There is a small crack at the of the hour minute hands, but that is the extent of it. Here's an investment opportunity not to pass up.
Please look at the photos and judge its merits for yourself. The watch features a near mint double sunk porcelain dial with baton type hour and minute hands. And except for a noticeable scratch on the back and a very small ding on the side, is blemish free.
The inside back cover shows a jeweler's mark from the last time it was cleaned as '2007', the year I purchased it. You can see the word inscribed beneath the balance wheel. Like all the other great pocket watches of the era, this one features 23 jewels, five positional adjustments, bridge plate design movement, a motor barrel and unlike other model's, the 'elasticity invariable hairspring' better known as Invar, made of 36 nickel steel.
