This watch would be perfect except for the gold filled static with no karat rating any where on case. This beautiful Official Railroad watch was purchased and used by a conductor in the early 20th century. The Ball Watch Company presented this design estimated to be in 1919. He kept the watch after retiring until he died.
After purchasing this watch 52 years ago I used it as a timepiece quite few times then kept in display case. BALL Hamilton 999N 16s 23j Official Standard Railroad Pocket Watch. A magnifier shows two tiny scratches revealing the brass underneath and four small dents around outer edge. The crystal glass is hinged to access the time set latch.
Different lighting affects the yellow/rose case color.
