My Camera is not showing the marks good enough; its too shiny for my eyes maybe you see better than I can. The watch runs a little slow. It is equipped with a cylinder escapement, well made for the time, but now considered obsolete, and it difficult to find someone service movements of this type. I can't read the hallmarks.

If this watch was imported into England, and the case is solid silver, then there should be hallmarks that may allow more precise dating. It was made in 1880, Birmingham Assay mark and the standing lion indicates its sterling. It is also nail-set, meaning that you push the small button beside crown with your fingernail to allow hands be set. I think this is a Swiss move-ment made for the UK.

This watch is Swiss, likely from the last quarter of 1800s, and equipped with what known popularly as a Swiss bar movement. I bought these pieces separately in the mid 1980 's.
