Ornate beautifully hand carved detail work. This is a really beautiful watch my own personal collection. The hinge is good and the bezel snaps shut. INNER CASE: Silver, with hallmarks for London 1777, the date letter is b.
The 3 recommendations were. MOVEMENT: Gilded verge escapement, with engraved and pierced balance cock, four square pillars. I've been asked to check underneath this paper for others. The high dome bulls eye crystal is also in good condition.
I haven had the nerves to even attempt it. Take a look at the photos to see condition. These are extremely rare to find with the hand painting tortoise shell outer case. The fusee chain is missing one of the hooks on end.
OUTER CASE: Fitted in a tortoiseshell outer casing. Under painted horn is a very thin piece of From my own research: The case was hand painted with a foliage design. Bovine that was almost translucent and painted on the reverse side then attached to watch case with small pin like studs.
Display the beautiful watch as is. A very old watch paper. The balance spins freely and sounds great with pressure to the drive train simulating chain tension. The item is packaged and ready to ship.
Signed Robt Ivanhoe, London and numbered 31545. The horn is in good condition which rare for these old watches. It will need service and show signs of use. Blued hour and minute hands are in great condition.
The movement is in good cosmetic condition with just a few scratches around the pillar tops. DIAL: The fine white enamel calendar dial is in excellent condition, with a few light scratches.
