My dad was kind enough to etch my name and phone number into the back plate for safekeeping, What follows is what I've learned from internet a local jeweler that suggested it not worth repairing. Estimated Production Year: 1883. Also noticed the case is stamped Philadelphia Watch case Co. Silvered 984729, but AI says this company didn't start until 1889 which doesn't match up with the 1883 Serial Number.

Please look at the pictures carefully and make sure this is exactly what you want. I've included the data from The Elgin Pocket Watch Database using Serial Number. Let's start this out saying that I have no idea what is. I have no idea if this is accurate.

Both the front and back screw on. This watch was given to me by my great grandfather in the 1960s and has never worked.
