It needs a good cleaning - screwback threads for both the front cover and back are relatively easy to maneuver but will work better after cleaned. This Elgin Natl. No chips in the crystal detected. USA size 18 open face sidewinder mens pocket watch was manufactured around 1904 and is in excellent condition.

Oresilver case is in good condition - it structurally sound with typical wear and tear. Movement is damaskeened and in good shape appearance. There are no major dents as may appear in the pictures, and any dirt tarnish is magnified pictures - case looks much better to naked eye. The crown winds well and the lever set works.

This watch is antique and being sold as described based on my experience a collector. The Fays Watch Case Co. The bow, pendant and crown are in excellent shape structurally. As with most antique and vintage timepieces this watch should be cleaned, serviced / or repaired.

The dial is in good condition with a few faint hairline fractures throughout and chipping at 5 under the bezel. The 7 jewel watch winds, sets and runs well - see video for performance, servicing will optimize operation.
